Tech briefing: Stanford University, one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the world, has dipped its toe in the water and offered an entire course for free online.

Artificial Intelligence is being taught by Sebastian Thrun, a professor of computer science and electrical engineering at Stanford, and Peter Norvig, a visiting professor and director of research at Google - probably best known as the lead developer of Google's self-driving car.
