4TH GRADERS READY FOR SUMMER LEARNING AT SCSU
The Southern Academy Set to Kick Off on Tuesday
NEW HAVEN – While many elementary school students will be attending “summer school” during July and August, not too many can say they will be doing so at a college or university.
But starting Tuesday, a group of 25 fourth graders will be spending a good part of their summer days at Southern Connecticut State University as part of an innovative instructional program designed to improve literacy among local youth and help close the student achievement gap.
