Washington, DC is a city with a foot in every corner of the world. Home to the president of the United States and venerable establishments such as the Supreme Court, U.S. Congress, and Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC is the epicenter of education, social action, and the policies that drive our country. Beyond the political arena, however, lies an historic city rich in arts and culture, with vibrantly diverse neighborhoods and numerous parks and recreational activities. Hispanics make up approximately 8.3% of the city’s population and have contributed especially to the thriving neighborhoods of Mt. Pleasant and Columbia Heights.
