Despite centuries of racially motivated laws devised to oppress and exclude intermarried Native and African Americans, their culture has found a way to survive.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) and the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) are working to ensure that cultural impact lives on.
In collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), the NMAAHC and the NMAI produced "IndiVisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas," which is on display at Troy University's Rosa Parks Museum through July 31.
