A study done in 2008 of students in grades 7-12 in the greater Bridgeport region, shows that the students first try tobacco starting as young as age 12 and in some areas even younger. Over 70% of youth said their parents believe tobacco use is very wrong while only 25% said their peers believe it's wrong.
