Up to $50,000 in mortgage assistance now available to eligible CT residents through EHLP 

The Federal Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program (EHLP) recently opened up to CT residents in need of assistance with paying their home mortgage. The program provides up to $50,000 as a forgivable loan. Homeowners are eligible if:

1) 90 days or more delinquent on their first mortgage, and

2) Have suffered a loss of income due to unemployment, underemployment or suffered adverse economic conditions resulting from a medical emergency or serious injury.

This program is provided for a limited time and on a first come, first serve basis, and is administered by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA).
