On Thursday, April 14, 2011, 6: 00 p.m., Bike Rider and other Riders will “BLAST OFF A RIDE” for justice in remembrance of Malik E. Jones. On the 14th Anniversary of  Malik’ murder. On April 14th 1997 Malik was brutally gunned down by an East Haven police officer as Malik sat in a car boxed-in and unarmed.

Riders will  meet and ”blast off” at the old Shaw’s parking lot ( now Stop & Shop) on Whalley Avenue in New Haven, and will ride for justice to the location of the site on Grand Ave. (between East and James Streets). They will converge on Grand Ave. with supporters; light a candle; take a moment of silence; pray for peace; and will “REV” for Justice for Malik, Power, Love, & Unity. James ( Malik’ oldest brother )said “we want people to know that this case is still on appeal, barring justice with no closure for our family and the community”.

All Riders as well as other bikers, cars vehicles welcome to join this worthy call for justice and remembrance. The public is also invited to participate in this cause.

James E. Jones Jr. and colleague riders will announce that this memorial serves as a “kick off” for a major ride for justice and a call to unity to be held on September 2, 2011.
