The 150th Anniversary of the Civil War is being commemorated by a statewide series of events. Click here to see the Hartford Courant coverage, which includes many partners for the Freedom's Journey immersion experience here at the Festival. Freedom's Journey consists of performances, ideas discussions, tours and more, including the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company production of Serenade/The Proposition, a reflection on the writings of Abraham Lincoln and those of his contemporaries.

CT Freedom Trail site: Farmington Historical Society
What: Jarita Davis will read poetry she created in response to the stories of the Freedom Trail’s Underground Railroad and Amistad sites located in Farmington, CT.
Walking tours by Farmington Historical Society include the Congregational Church, Union Hall, Samuel Deming House, Deming Store, Mrs. Freeman’s House, Noah Porter House, 1665 Old Cemetery, Austin William’s House, Mendi Dormitory, and Riverside Cemetery.
