Taneisha Buchanan, PhD is a post-doctoral associate in the Center for Health Equity at the University of Minnesota under the mentorship of Dr. Jasjit Ahluwalia. She obtained her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from The University of Akron.
During her graduate training her research centered on the experiences of African American women and she received a departmental Diversity Award for her clinical work and research. Her areas of research interest include ethnic minority health and health disparities, particularly tobacco-related disease prevention. The focus of her postdoctoral research is on light and intermittent smoking with an emphasis on ethnic minority populations.
