ENGAGING FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES IN EDUCATION REFORM


Engaging Families and Communities is an Education Reform Strategy forum was presented by SERC on Saturday March 26, 2011.
Keynote Speakers included  Dr. Penny Bender Sebring - Author & Founding Director of the Consortium on Chicago School Research at the University of Chicago,
and Dr. James Comer, the Maurice Falk Professor of Child Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine's Child Center
The day was full of fun filled activities while learning how to improve children's  academic success.
 Panel discussions included Union leaders, Bridgeport Leadership, Parent Leaders, Board of Education members and  CT lawmakers.


The STATE EDUCATION RESOURCE CENTER  LINK  is in existence for you. You may not have seen Waiting for Superman, nor know that there is something called and achievement gap. You probably do know that young minds and young bodies are growing and maturing for better and yes for worse in our schools.What can you do you might ask. SERC is here to answer that question for you.
