Ex-trooper runs region’s biggest minority-owned firm

From the 21st-floor window of Andrew R. Crumbie’s expansive Hartford office, it is possible to see a city below that is still struggling to move forward after one of the worst recessions in U.S. history.
But Andrew Crumbie can look out that window and see a land of opportunity, just like the one that greeted him when he first came here as a 6-year-old Jamaican immigrant. That sense of optimism is among the reasons he has been able to double the size of his law firm at a time when others were retrenching.
