I became blessed by attending this event this summer, you will feel the same after viewing it!
Elizabeth Alexander wrote the stirring poem that set a tone for the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama and is the author of the collection American SublimeBill T. Jones, Tony Award-winning choreographer and MacArthur “genius award" recipient, is the artistic director of the internationally renowned Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. His recent dances reflect on the legacy of Abraham Lincoln and his hit musical Fela! has earned critical acclaim on Broadway. These distinguished cultural arbiters, thinkers and creative taste-makers reflect on making, doing, and meaning in the current cultural landscape for artists. As part of this conversation, they talk about their own commitment to making art  that reflects a shared humanity embedded in courageous approaches to beauty, truth, and the imagination.

This Ideas event took place on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in the Yale Center for British Art.
