"For the Love of Haiti: A Pilgrimage of Hope" Working Cruise, 10/3-10, 2011
New York -- Under the leadership of Dr. Ron Daniels, founder of the Haiti Support Project (HSP), Black leaders and friends of Haiti are inviting 2,300 people who care deeply about Haiti and want to see the nation restored to join them on a humanitarian cruise, October 3-10, 2011, aboard Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas. People are being asked to give their time, talent and skill to community service and work projects. For the Love of Haiti: Pilgrimage of Hope is envisioned as a "roll-up-our-sleeves project," a heartfelt effort to lift the spirits of the Haitian people by making a contribution to building the new Haiti. HSP also hopes to link faith-based institutions and civic- minded organizations from the U.S. with various projects, organizations and initiatives in Haiti to provide ongoing support for the reconstruction process after the Cruise.
Though Pilgrimage of Hope is scheduled for October of 2011, Dr. Daniels indicates that organizers must attract 2,300 participants with refundable deposits of $500 by December 15th of this year. "We need friends of Haiti from across the country to imagine what this Pilgrimage will mean to our sisters and brothers in Haiti and step forward to register family and friends now."
