Show Me the Franklins! Remembering the Ancestors, Slavery, and Benjamin Franklin Performances by The Theatre for Transformation Meet Jemima, Peter, Othello, George, and King, all held in slavery by Benjamin Franklin. Through music, movement and sometimes humorous scenes, the play dramatizes how our ancestors might have experienced American Slavery and American Freedom. This play, by Dr. Amanda Kemp, offers a fresh perspective on Franklin, who died as president of the Abolitionist Society without ever freeing even one of his own slaves and gives an opportunity to remember and forgive.
