GCC offers free computer literacy courses starting Sept. 28
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 23, 2010) — Gateway Community College (GCC) will offer two free computer literacy courses beginning Sept. 28 that are designed to teach basic skills to adults, senior citizens, displaced workers and others who have little or no experience with using a personal computer.
The first course will be held Tuesdays from Sept. 28 to Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The second will be held Fridays from Oct. 1 to Nov. 19 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Among other starting-level skills, the courses will include how to create a safe password, learning how to access the Internet, and establishing and using a free e-mail account.
Seating is limited and registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
