New Haven Public Schools wants every child in the city between the ages of three and five to have the opportunity to attend Pre-school this year. The research is clear; Pre-K learning experiences build a solid foundation that helps children succeed in school. “We have to reach more children at these early ages and give them the tools they need to be prepared to learn when they enter Kindergarten”, said Superintendent, Dr. Reginald Mayo. “We believe early childhood education is a key focus area as we strive to close the achievement gap, cut the drop-out rate in half and ensure all our graduates are prepared to succeed in college.”
