The Women of Power Network, Inc. (WOPN) is a federally registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation. WOPN is designed to connect professional women and college students (females) throughout Connecticut in an effort to recycle intellectual knowledge through a mentoring approach. Through our Developing Leaders Mentoring Platform (DLMP), sophomore students are matched with talented women from our network. Our mentors support students as they develop their unique talents and prepare for college.

WOPN is committed to addressing the educational and social development needs of public high school girls; bridging the gap between students receiving a quality educational experience and students at risk due to social issues plaguing our inner cities. We offer leadership and professional development training, educational resources and tools to aid students as they take an active role in planning and preparing for college.

Our overarching goal is to guide young girls into womanhood, with the assistance and support of our mentors who live and work in the community. Through our Developing Leaders Mentoring Platform, each student is partnered with two strong intelligent mentors; a successful professional career woman and a college student in good academic standing. These mentors provide students with educational support and professional guidance that will teach them how to create opportunities for academic success, develop their unique abilities and talents and use them to transform their communities and communities around the world.

We offer a host of innovative activities that seek to produce well-rounded students. Activities such as the Social Styles Training to promote team work during community service activities. Students are also given opportunities to attend educational enrichment workshops and youth leadership conferences offered throughout the country and our International Bridge Building Activity will allow students to travel abroad with mentors and meet under-privileged girls like themselves and exchange cultural experiences and ideas.
