We as a society tend to throw around the words love god bless and other such terms. The recognition and retirement dinner for Wes Thorpe now former executive director of the Immnuel Baptist Church Shelter was an event where such well wishes were sincere and genuine. Businessman, church and civic servant, the dinner for Wes was another example of change. The passing of time and the continual mandate to plan for the future. Wes has labored in many vineyards. He has cultivated many gardens,eradicated weeds and nursed the forlorn throughout the city and neighborhoods, boards and commissions. His life labors are clear to see.
