Sister's Journey presented their 2nd Annual Mother Daughter Brunch on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Cascade in Hamden, CT. With an emphasis on breast cancer awareness for women under 40, these modern day suffragettes are on mission to abolish breast cancer.A fantasy vision you might say. Well how long did it take for women to secure the right to vote? When was the first abolitionist society created leading up to the civil war. How long was the Montgomery Bus Boycott? A great cause is not confined by time and space. More research evidence becomes available. Knowledge influences behavior. The integration of the body-mind and spirit renders new health meanings and new power. The ladies of Sister's Journey laid out the solution prescription of faith, belief and informed action. Geraldine Cotton as Mistress of Ceremonies, Reverend Yolanda Smith who provided the invocation, Dr. Denise Barajas, Director of Women's Center for Breast Health at the Hospital of Saint Raphael who humanely depicted the medical challenges and ongoing successes the survivor's story touchingly delivered by Paulette Thompson Clinton, spiced by inspirational song conveyed with love by Vicki LaFrazier and wrapped in heartfelt mother-daughter fashion show demonstrated that love has everything to do with it. Love for self. Love for the unborn. Love for the new born. Love for the future. Love for all. The ways and methods that we can show love, be love and share love are blessedly infinite. The Mother Daughter Brunch is a marvelous display of abolitionist ammunition on the march. You need not wait to attend to attend the Sister's Journey Annual Pink Tea this fall on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Mohegan Sun. You can join up right now. Just as good, as soon as you read this show some love to someone.
