Honored at Last: Recipient Frank Mitchell didn’t see this one coming- The New Haven Register - Serving New Haven, Connecticut

NEW HAVEN — World War II veteran Frank Mitchell waited 67 years for this day and he never even saw it coming.
On Saturday afternoon, six of his seven children and countless grandchildren and great grandchildren packed into a room at the Tower One-Tower East retirement community and beamed as 85-year-old Mitchell was presented five medals for his service during World War II.
