Saturday, May 1: May Day March for Immigrant Rights in New Haven
Saturday, May 1st is May Day, celebrated around the world as International Workers' Day. 2010 marks the fourth anniversary of massive immigrant rights protests in Los Angeles and across the country against the reactionary and bigoted Sensenbrenner immigration "reform" bill. On Sunday, March 21st, 200,000 people demonstrated for immigrant rights in Washington, DC. The struggle continues against bigoted laws like Arizona's SB1070, which legalizes racial profiling.
This Saturday, we will march to celebrate International Workers' Day, demand full rights for all immigrants and to protest Arizona's racist SB1070. ANSWER CT has been mobilizing for the march and will have a contingent. The march starts 10am at Quinnipiac River Park, near Grand Ave and Front Street.
