Paul Tavaras, New Haven Firefighters and Gary Holder Winfield,State Represenative 95th District, issued the challenge of "How Tough Are You?" during the weekly Obama Initiative held at Wexler Grant Elementary School under the auspices of Attorney Clifton Graves. I have the pleasure of assisting with this initiative.No one absolutely knows the complexity of the equation that seems to embroil us all in this calculus of discontent. We must formulate the factors, arrange the order and implement the results. Or must We? While many are working on the problem, it can seem as if we are losing ground. How often do we hear the achievement gap disparity mantra proclaimed day in and day out.To right this unequal reality, could it be that too many of us are sitting on the wrong side of the ship? Could it be that we tilting in the wrong direction due to our mass being inert ,moribund and ill placed? Visit your school before the school year ends. Do not wait to be invited or summoned.Can your mere presence make a difference. Try it. You might like it. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
