Hello Friends,
Sisters' Journey will host its 2nd Mother/Daughter Brunch Saturday May 29th at Cascades in Hamden .
We will be awarding 4 scholarships to high school seniors who have had parents or grandparents diagnosed with breast cancer....The scholarships will be awarded in the names of Linda White-Epps, Phyllis White, Barbara Winters and Yvonne Watson.
The idea behind the event is for parents to talk to their children about their family's health history and to encourage young people to be better advocates of their own health.
Dr. Denise Barajas, the Director of the Women's Center for Breast Health at the Hospital of Saint Raphael will be our guest speaker, and Paulette Clinton Thompson, (diagnosed before the age of 40) will be our guest survivor speaker.
It is open to everyone not just mothers and daughters...it is Memorial day weekend, and hopefully if you don't have plans you will join us.
