Often we can get caught up in episodes of distraction and not connect the dots. In the 5th Annual and most sucessfull Hartford Step Off Classic and Health Fair was held last Saturday. The upcoming Juneteenth weekend, Jazz Festival at Bushnell Park, the West Indian American Day parade and related events during the week leading up to the parade and many other community markers are in place. Every event can be better and better. If you want to stop the violence , create better schools,have better government etc, not always look for the big fix, consider community destinations of common and collective activity as pieces to the puzzle of community mobilization and improvement.
