Tell the GOP: Stop inciting and supporting hate
Right wing tea partiers are resorting to hatred and even violence. Last weekend, health care protestors shouted racist and homophobic slurs at Black and gay members of Congress. Then, this past week, multiple members of Congress received death threats, and several had their offices vandalized.
For over a year, the Republican Party has done little to stop the violent and racially charged rhetoric and anti-government conspiracy theories coming from their grassroots. At times — even after the events of last week — Republican officials have egged them on, contributing to the toxic atmosphere.
It's time for this to stop — and for Republican leadership to address the situation it's helped to create.
Join us in calling on RNC Chaiman Michael Steele, House Minority Leader John Boehner and House Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to make it clear that bigotry, hate, and the fear-mongering that leads to it have no place in their party.
