The 24th Annual Reflections and Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr presented by the Milford Chapter of the Links, Inc. was held on Sunday January 17, 2010 at the Milford City Hall. Over 200 friends , family, admirers, truth seekers, diciples and witness bearers of all ages, creeds and hues came out to honor one of the world's saints.The guest speaker was the Honorable Denise L Nappier, and local, state and federal elected officials were in attendance. Music was provided by the Foran High School Choir, directed by Ms. Theresa Voss and the Bethel AME Church Youth Choir of Bridgeport under the direction of Rev. Orsella Cooper.Each year the celebrations of this special national holiday take on renewed meaning and the Haitian disaster only provided a global awareness context to MLK's comments that we are all interrelated.
This interconnectedness was exemplified by the reading of the statement of purpose by young Nigel Reid.
