Town Hall Meeting on: Closing The Connecticut Achievement Gap
A day dedicated to education empowerment of students, youth, young adults and families.
ALSO @1pm-3pm: Education Resources and career information
3pm-4pm: The Stamford ICON presentation to S. Beatrice Foreman.
· Learn about and speak up on the need to close and eliminate the Achievement Gap
· Learn about educational resources available for families, students and parents
· Meet with local organizations that provide scholarships, educational resources, and other services
· Students can bring college applications for review and assistance with essays
· A college financial aid workshop will be provided for students and families
· Learn about the importance of the 2010 U.S. Census and employment opportunities
· The U.S. Census has employment opportunities paying $14.25 to $21.75
· U.S. Census experts will be providing information on job requirements and offering the practice test

· Learn about career options from professionals in a wide range of occupations/professions
· Bring your resume to receive assistance with updates and targeting for impact
· FREE back packs will be provided to student attendees
