NEW HAVEN — A citizens group Monday looking to reopen the storied Dixwell Community House discussed some award-winning models it has visited in other states as it looks to resurrect the center here.
The “Q House” ended up in Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2006 when its last board of directors left it $200,000 in debt.
The Concerned Citizens for the Greater New Haven Dixwell Q House, a group of adults who used the facility as youngsters, has been lobbying for six years to open up a center where kids could go for after-school programs.
