Description: Samarpita Bajpai is a name to reckon with, among the upcoming Kuchipudi dancers of today. She hails from the famous Kuchipudi gharana of Guru C.R. Acharyalu, who choreographed some of the rarest dances in the ancient temple style of Andhra Pradesh. Chitra Natyam or picture painting dances are a signature of this gharana. Samarpita is one among a very few dancers worldwide who is diligently trying to revive these near extinct dances.
