(Event background)2009 Healing Opportunities People Everywhere Community Festival
& Housing Summit

The City's foreclosure epidemic not only effects the Property Owners but, it has a tremendous effect on the tenants that occupy the foreclose property. Tenants are the ones who are being served by surprise with the Notice to Quit demanding them to move from their home. In most cases they are forced to relocate due to no fault of their own.

Up until now, the voice of the foreclosure epidemic has been that of the property owner. No one has been a vocal piece for the cries of the tenants that are also adversely affected. Can you imagine trying to raise a stable family, working everyday, living from paycheck to paycheck, bringing home just enough money to pay rent and put food on the table; only to find out that your family stability that you work so hard for immediately crumbles right before your eyes, starting from a knock at the door from a sheriff?

Can you imagine how disruptive this is?

Immediately, questions form without immediate answers such as: How do I move in 30 days? Better yet, where? Where will the money come from? Can I get the rent that I paid back? What happens if I don't find a place in time? Will my family end up in a shelter? What are my resources? These are just some of the many real worries of families throughout our City who occupy the properties that are foreclosed on by investors.

Now I ask you, what answers do we give them? How can we help?

For one moment on Saturday, July 11, 2009 12:00pm - 4:00pm, let's shift our foreclosure focus off of the Property Owners and onto the Tenants.

For more information please contact Outreach Property Management at (203) 498-2031 or via email at rgraham@outreachproperty.com.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE WE AND LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR COMMUNITY!!!

Sincerely,

Roberta Hoskie-Graham
