THE FATHERHOOD-WE CARE MARCH-MONDAY JUNE 22

Christian Community Commission, Inc.
Brotherhood Leadership Summit

Contact Person: Minister Donald Morris

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In the wake of continuing violence…shootings and here lately young children being shot by accident…lack of discipline in our neighborhood and no real leadership intervention into our communities. The Christian Community Commission / Brotherhood Leadership Summit will organize Monday, June 22, 5:30 p.m. The Fatherhood “We Care March”…this march will take place and begin at the Dixwell ‘Q’ House…192 Dixwell Avenue New Haven. Many of the problems we are facing in the Black Community are
directly related to Fatherless homes, where there is no male authority and positive role models. Because of this, it affects the surrounding community. Without Fathers to balance the home and provide the kind of support which detours aggressive behavior we will continue to see future violence by a younger and already organize generation of youth.
The March is an attempt to create awareness and encourage Fathers and Men to become more responsible in the lives of their children and community. There is a great expectation of marchers from New Haven - Hartford – Bridgeport and other cities as well. State and local leaders will be there to address the issues and to promote a new energy. The March will proceed from the Dixwell ‘Q’ House …up Dixwell to Basset Street…down Bassett and will end up in front of Bassett Street School on Bassett Street.
For more information concerning the March you can call Minister Donald Morris – (203) 624-9228 or 627-8333
