"MALIK TO KICK OFF NATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO STOP RACIAL
PROFILING IN EAST HAVEN AND TO ANNOUNCE TEAMING WITH THE NATION'S OLDEST CIVIL RIGHRS LAW FIRM (FOUNDED IN 1940 BY THURGOOD MARSHALL) THE NAACP LEGAL DEFENSE AND EDUCATIONAL, INC."
On April 14, 2009, the 12th year anniversary of the brutal white East Haven police office, Robert Flodquist murder of Malik E. Jones (as Malik sat in a car boxed-in and unarmed) the family will hold a press conference on the continuation of racial profiling in East Haven; and plan to announce new developments with the civil case pending in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York. The Press conference will take place at 10 a.m. on the steps of the United States District Court, 141 Church Street, New Haven, CT.
The purpose of the press conference is to announce: teaming with NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.; the status of this historic case; and kick off a new strategy to combat racial profiling in East Haven.
Immediately upon completion of the press conference 12 people will accompany Emma Jones to the U.S. Justice Department to deliver a petition and kicking off a national campaign to stop racial profiling in East Haven.
