New Haven Firebird Society's Scholarship Dinner
Saturday, May 16th
The New Haven Firebird Society will have its annual Les Turner Scholarship Dinner on Saturday, May 16th at the Fantasia Banquet Hall 404 Washington Avenue (Route 5) in North Haven. The Dinner starts at 6:30 PM. News Channel 8's Desiree Fountaine is the emcee. Scholarships will be awarded to New Haven High School graduates and there will be community awards given out to non-profit organizations. A courage award will be given to a child that has shown outstanding courage during troubled times. There will also be an award presented to the family of Earl Geyer, New Haven's first African American Fire Chief. Tickets are $60. For more information contact Gary Tinney at gtfire@snet.net.
