The first New Haven Teen Encounter was held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Hill Regional Career High School and was sponsored in part by Empower New Haven and Youth Empowerment Services. The day was developed and coordinated by Cynthia Newell, President and Founder of Neighborhood Leadership Initiative.
