On Saturday February 21,2009 over 1000 people began their morning with breakfast and a movie in North Haven.Just as importantly over 100 volunteers staffed the event fundraiser designed to to help cancer patients and their families cope in hard times.
Six years ago, the first "Breakfast and a Movie" event drew 300 people.
The breakfast was donated by Yale New Haven Hospital , and Tyler Perry 's new movie " Madea Goes to Jail" was shown.
The C.H.A.I.N. Fund, a community based organization based in New Haven, stands for "compassionate hands assisting interim needs." The non-profit organization provides financial assistance and a social intervention network for cancer patients.
What a tremendous morning where shared interests and common passions catalyzed for the greater good.
