The Branch will begin this historic centennial year of activities on Saturday February 7th at 10:00 AM with a panel discussion entitled: The State of African American Affairs – Post Obama Election. The event will be hosted by Gateway Community College, Long Wharf Campus, 60 Sargent Drive in New Haven. The discussion will be moderated by Mr. Hilary Shelton, Vice President for Advocacy and Legislative Liaison for the national office of the NAACP. Panelist include: Ms. Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of the late Malcolm X, Dr.Dorsey L. Kendrick, President of Gateway Community College, Ms. Kica Matos esq. Director, Community Service Administration-City of New Haven, Mr. Mark Sklarz esq. Chair, Jewish Community Relations Council-Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, & Mr. Angel Fernandez, Senior Philanthropic Officer-Community Foundation of Greater New Haven
