INAUGURATION DAY AT THE NEW HAVEN PUBLIC LIBRARY

Inauguration Day at The New Haven Public Library

The public is invited to experience inauguration day at all branches of The New Haven Public Library. Starting at 10am on Tuesday, January 20, televised events will be projected onto large screens at branches throughout the city (check www.nhbulletin.blogspot.com for locations).

In addition, at 6pm at the Main Library, 133 Elm St., a film will be screened: The Democratic Promise: Saul Alinsky and his Legacy. An early influence on many of our current political leaders, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Alinsky is credited with the slogan "Think globally, act locally." Commentary will be provided by Melissa Canham-Clyne, author of a forthcoming article on community organizing; Kia Levy, Empower New Haven; and Seth Godfrey, Obama classmate (Columbia 1983). There is no charge and free parking is available at all branches (after 4pm at Main Branch). For more information please call 946-8835.
