THE RISE AND FALL OF HYPERPOWERS:TOLERANCE, INTOLERANCE AND LESSONS FOR AMERICA

CONNECT with Yale in New Haven ,an Association of Yale Alumni event, included a lecture of Saturday, May 3, 2008 by Amy Chua, entitled "The Rise and Fall of Hyperpowers: Tolerance, Intolerance and Lessons for America.

This presentation was thought provoking as she identified the rise and fall of nation state dynasties and the reasons for their dominance and subsequent withering. Of course it is conjecture whether the current hyperpower ie The United States of America will suffer the same demise as for example the Roman Empire and Great Britain

But there is no doubt that her books, and this lecture provokes serious introspection as to where we are in the long arc of historical analysis.
