FIND YOUR VOICE

We hear so much these days about finding your voice, fulfilling your destiny, embracing your purpose and living more meaningfully in the moment

I recently received the press release below regarding the 52nd Wesleyan Writers Conference to be held, June 15-June 2O.

Unfortunately there are not too many free luncheons anymore. But it is my hope that someone reading the release might find this opportunity as just what he or she needs to take advantage of in order to manifest their being at this stage in their life.

WESLEYAN WRITERS CONFERENCE OFFERS “FESTIVAL OF THE NEW”

National Book Award-winning novelists Ha Jin and Robert Stone will join
more than 20 writers, editors, and agents at the 52nd annual Wesleyan
Writers Conference, June 15-20, 2008 at Wesleyan University.

This nationally recognized program features classes, workshops, manuscript
advice, guest speakers, readings, and talks with editors and agents. It
welcomes new writers, experienced writers, and everyone interested in the
writer’s craft.

In addition to Ha Jin and Robert Stone, faculty writers include Katha
Pollitt, Roxana Robinson, Honor Moore, Paul LaFarge and William Finnegan
of The New Yorker.

Topics include novel, short story, poetry, journalism, memoir, biography,
and longform nonfiction. Eiko Otake, world-renowned dance artist, offers a
workshop on movement and language. Other hot topics include graphic
novels, publishing in the digital age, freelance writing, and publishing
your first book.

2007 participant Dr. Karen Laugel (of North Haven, CT) says the Conference
contributed to her success in Amazon’s 2007 Breakthrough Novel Award
contest.

A one-day program on June 19, Festival of the New, welcomes people who
cannot attend the full-week program. Participants will have a chance to
talk with the speakers.
Features:

young American novelists; Roya Hakakian, award-winning journalist and
documentary film-maker; and Alexandra Peers of The Wall Street
Journal.

* workshop on movement and language with MacArthur award-winning dance
artist Eiko Otako, whose work includes performance installations and
