White People Cheer On Bernie

Ficklin Media Note: Not sure if the New Haven Independent title is a tongue in cheek effort or a pure attempt to get attention or a serious perspective.

Many people of all hues and stripes are cheering Bernie on, whether he wins the nomination or not. It is curious to me given his only recent public awareness re the presidential race, why even the notion that black people, yellow people, amber people or pink people knowing or not knowing  Bernie yet. is worthy of conjecture.

More importantly I do hope that the title was selected from a tongue in cheek perspective for in my opinion people will support him as he earns it and not just because of populist platform.

I wonder if POTUS had not become the Commander in Chief, if this heightened media awareness of the black vote would have even been mentioned.

Black people supported John Edwards, Hilary and Barack as that campaign heated up.

Finally ,it strikes me a little lazy and or blind white liberalism to attempt to categorize and define black voting behavior en masse.

Thanks for the feedback! our thinking was -- this has been a big issue nationally for the Sanders campaign. Zero traction numerically (polling, crowds) with black voters. He can't win the nomination or come close without at least some black support. The New York Times, for instance, has explored this issue, which I believe is important for presidential candidates to address.
