Please Support WCSYale This Year

WCS Letterhead

The Class of 2014

 Dear Friends of WCSYale,

It is thanks to you, our loyal supporters, that WCSYale continues to  thrive.  As we enter our 21st year, we have established ourselves as the  premiere training institute for women engaged in public life.  We  believe that we are creating a new campaign culture, one candidate at  a time.  We do this through conscious and considered programming,  not only in our summer session at Yale Law School, but in workshops  held across the country throughout the year, all taught by passionate  and committed faculty who truly are the "best in the business."

WCSYale gives a woman not only a comprehensive nuts and bolts  toolkit for running a successful political campaign, but empowers her  to find her vision as a candidate and leader, to know from within what  drives her to serve and how to articulate that vision.  To know her  most powerful tool: her own voice, and to develop the courage to use  it.  Women come to us with a fervent desire to change the world. What  we say to them is, "Welcome!  We are with you!  And now, let's get to  work!"

We are all well-aware of the painful reality: political campaigns are  ugly and getting uglier.  But a WCSYale graduate, conscious of this and  knowing the strength of her own values, decides nonetheless to engage  and to change the culture from within.  As our graduate, U.S. Sen.  Kirsten Gillibrand, Class of 2004, so eloquently put it and models in  her own career: these women get "off the sidelines."

What sets WCSYale apart is also our level of engagement with our  graduates, far beyond graduation.  The relationship doesn't end.  We  have an active alumnae network and mentor women through the  course of their careers.  We are a real "sisterhood."  Each of us has  been helped along the path by other women, and we aspire to do the  same for those coming after us.

Our goal is to achieve parity in leadership, in our own country and our  world.  We do this one woman at a time.  Many of our prospective  students need a hand in turning this vision into a reality, and our  tuition does not cover our operating expenses.  It is through your  continued support that we are able to offer deserving women the  opportunity of a WCSYale education and to continue to mentor them  throughout their careers.  We are humbled by your continued  generosity.  You are integral to our mission, truly cherished members  of the WCSYale family.

With gratitude and sincere good wishes for the holidays,

  Love, Patti
