-PRESS RELEASE-
MAYOR JOHN DESTEFANO JR. TO HOLD BUDGET PRESENTATIONS FOR NEW HAVEN RESIDENTS

(New Haven, CT)  Over the next four weeks, New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr. will hold four meetings at locations across the City in order to provide New Haven residents with information about his proposed City budget for the coming fiscal year.

At each meeting, Mayor DeStefano will provide an overview of the City’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2013/2014 and answer questions from residents. Residents are encouraged to attend these informational meetings in order to gain an understanding of both the City’s budget priorities and the challenges presented for the City as a result of the proposed State budget.

“The City of New Haven has worked through some extremely hard economic times and is still thriving. This year, the City is presented with an even tougher challenge than is typical. Despite this, I am certain that if we are strategic and efficient, we can ensure the protection and growth of initiatives that are vital to our city,” said Mayor DeStefano, noting that “it will not be easy—we will have to make difficult decisions about what is essential versus what is desirable for our City—but I know we can do it.”

The first two meetings have been scheduled for March and the other two will be scheduled for April.

The first presentation will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:30 pm at St. Bernadette's Church, 385 Townsend Avenue.

The second presentation will be held on Wednesday, March 27th at 7pm at Roberto Clemente School, 360 Columbus Avenue.
